What's on in and around Edinburgh this April?
April in the hills starts to feel a lot more like spring. Daffodils brighten the cottage gardens and preparation for lambing is underway. Easter provides the perfect occasion for a big family gathering in the countryside. This month, Edinburgh springs to life as usual with the International Science Festival and the Beltane Fire Festival celebrating the Winter's end with fiery theatrics on Calton Hill looking out over the city.
Festivals & Events
The Edinburgh Science Festival aims to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to discover science in the world around them. The programme is worth a look with its eclectic mix of topics from 'Physics Wizardry' workshops for children to 'Cheesology' and 'the Science of Gin and Tonic' for grown ups.
We are also looking forward to Beltane, celebrating the turning of the Celtic seasons with a display of fire, drumming, and acrobatics on Calton Hill.
