Is the cottage baby / child friendly?
- The Cartshed is suitable for pre-mobile babies (not yet crawling or walking).
- Note that there is no stair-gate (for either the short flight of 3 steps or the ladder-steps to the mezzanine).
- Neither is there a fire-guard for the wood-burning stove.
- We can provide a high chair and travel cot at a small additional charge (available to add within the booking process).
- We also have a baby bath - please request during the booking process.

Is the cottage dog friendly?
The Cartshed is unfortunately not dog friendly.

What is provided?
We provide:
- all bed linen
- 1 bath towel & 1 hand towel per guest
- 1 bathmat per bath or shower room
- Highland Soap Co. hand wash & creme for the bath/ shower rooms
- 2x toilet rolls per bath / shower room
In the kitchen we provide:
- oven gloves
- tea towels
- dish cloth
- pot scrubber
- dish brush
- washing up liquid
- dish washer tablets
On arrival we provide:
- biscuits
- tea
- coffee
- sugar
- small jug of milk
- salt / pepper / spice selection
For wood burning stoves and fire-pits we provide:
- matches,
- fire-lighters,
- some kindling (a small axe is provided to chop your own)
- ample firewood on a fair-usage basis
For sauna we provide
- Towels
- Sauna robes to get to-and-from the sauna

Do I need to bring anything?
You will need to bring
- All of your own food and drink - the accommodation is self-catering and there are no food or drink outlets onsite
- We recommend bringing sufficient clothes suited to the time of year in Scotland - this may mean warm clothes and waterproofs!

I’m buying coffee; what should I buy?
The Cartshed has a cafetière so please buy ground coffee.

Is there a washing machine?
- The accommodation does not have a washing machine or dryer for washing clothes and linen.
- The nearest laundrette is Braidburn laundrette or Revolution Laundry.
- Please ask if you need anything washed - depending on our availability, for a small charge we may be able to do it for you.

Tell me about the wood-fired sauna and how to book ...
- The wood-fired sauna is located at Eastside for guests of the Byre, Steading, Cartshed & Wash House.
- Instructions on how to book a sauna session are provided upon arrival at Eastside.
- The sauna is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays at preset times (though we reserve the right to change this as appropriate - for example over Christmas / New Year).
- On these days, private 2hr sessions are available to book.
- 1 complimentary session per accommodation booking is available for guests who book accommodation directly through our website (we give a code to use when booking the sauna).
- Otherwise, sauna sessions cost £40.
- The sauna holds a maximum of 6 people.
- We prepare and heat the sauna so that it is ready for the booked time.
- Please be punctual for your booking (if left unattended, the fire will start to cool).

What size is the bed?
The bed is a UK standard double size.

What is the difference between the Cartshed & the Wash House?
The Cartshed and Wash House Cottages are similar but the Cartshed is a little bigger with a small dining table and a cosy mezzanine snug area with beanbags.

Does the Cartshed have a wood-fired stove?
The Cartshed has a wood-fired stove in the open plan living room. We provide video instruction, kindling, fire lighters, matches and firewood on a fair-usage basis.
